Waterford and Swords Credit Unions are first in Ireland to achieve ISO27001 Certification
Wellington IT Solutions have become the first and are currently the only I.T Company in Ireland to have installed an ISO27001 certified Information Security Management System in a Credit Union.
By achieving this standard Credit Unions can demonstrate that their Information Security Management System meets a standard which is internationally recognised. This provides the Credit Unions’ members with the peace of mind that their personal and financial data is being managed in accordance with recognised and audited best practices.
To date no Irish banks have officially been awarded the security certification making the awards to Waterford and Swords Credit Union an outstanding achievement within the financial sector.

Chinese Channel Manager visiting China
Wellington’s Chinese Channel Manager Ping Jia is flying out to Beijing, Tianjin and Shenyang this month with Invest NI. He will be meeting up with our Chinese partner Lochaine to promote Wellington FMCG Software in the Chinese Drinks Market.

This year Wellington will be exhibiting at the INEC Killarney. We will be demonstrating the new additions to LOCUS as well as showing you how LOCUS will help with your Credit Union business in this financial climate. The latest Wellington FMCG Suite has attracted much interest within the Drinks and FMCG markets, while existing customers will soon begin migrating to this state of the art model.

Wellington and our Chinese partners attended Changsha Tangjiu National Trade Fair 2008 in Changsha. The show was a great success as Wellington FMCG Suite impressed many keyFood and Drink professionals.

Wellington Launch their FMCG software to the Chinese Market at the International Wine & Spirits fair in Shanghai.
Wellington have signed a distribution agreement with Chinese partners - ShangHai Lochaine Logistics Software Co.Ltd.. Lochaine will have distributions rights for China including Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan.
The FMCG Software suite consists of a Chinese-language, totally integrated Financials, ERP, Warehouse Management, B2B & B2C and Business Intelligence package. The Software offers in-built high-quality business processes for ready adaptation by the local Chinese Markets. It is based on an Oracle Database and includes a work flow element.

World First Security standard for Credit Union!
First Credit Union to gain internationally recognised security standard
Waterford Credit Union has become the world’s first credit union to gain the internationally recognised ISO 27001. As well as being the first credit union globally to be awarded the recognition, Waterford Credit Union are the first financial institution in Ireland to win the internationally accredited standard.
Alex Dunne, Managing Director, Wellington Computer Systems said: “We have been pleased to assist Waterford Credit Union in the implementation of ISO 27001 and are proud of the fact that the first financial institution in Ireland to receive the award is a credit union. Ensuring that credit unions have access the most up to date financial technology and services is central to what we do at Wellington and I look forward to delivering further innovations to the sector.”

Historic First For Credit Unions in Ireland!
Congratulations to Waterford and Mullingar on being the first Credit Unions to successfully enter the Irish Payments System.
This is quite significant and effectively puts those CUs on a par with ABN, Anglo, HSBC, Citibank, and the others whom BNPP act as a clearing agent ‘sponsor’. BNPP are currently investigating the introduction of a Debit Card which can be used nationally and internationally in ATMs and in retail Point-of-Sale devices, and we will keep you posted on this development.
Early in September , Waterford have become the first CU to actually transmit live funds through the clearing system using the bank-mandated ‘CU sort code/CU eight digit’ standard. This was followed closely by Mullingar, with St. Dominics (Waterford) and Tullamore Credit Union being recent additions, with more in the pipeline.

We are proud to be showcasing at the annual ILCU Conference in our home town of Belfast on the 27th-28th of April.

This year will prove to be even more exciting with live demonstrations of the industries most advanced Credit Union technologies from Wellington, with opportunities to learn more and speak with our friendly staff.
We especially welcome Credit Unions who may be using other IT systems, to come along and learn about how Wellington work with more of the Top50 Credit Unions in Ireland than any other supplier, and how we could be of service to you.

We attended the Spring ABCUL Conference in Blackpool on the 16th-17th of March, where we demonstrated the latest in Credit Union IT technologies like Industry 1st EFT and banking initiatives (Co-op, BOI, AIB), along with our exciting and very affordable ASP solution.
We met with many Credit Unions and thank all of you who called by our stand to talk to Andrew and Kevin.
Highlighted during the convention was the Wellington commitment to support of our customers. Support is of paramount importance to us with the large Wellington support team are on hand to guide, help and advise on issues.
We have the highest support staff to site ratio of any supplier and are proud of our commitment to our customers!

Thank you to all who came along to the official CUonline Launch event on Friday 12th of January!
The event proved to be a huge success, with many Credit Unions and press in attendance.
Our honored guest and Nobel Peace Prize winner, John Hume, officially launched the next generation of CUonline Electronic Funds Transfer website allowing members to pay bills, transfer funds into accounts and manage their finances online with ease.
