Named twice as Repak Recovery Operator of the year Thorntons Recycling has expertise in delivering integrated recycling solutions tailored to the needs of clients across a broad range of sectors from Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Education, and Manufacturing, to Leisure, Construction, Domestic and Municipal Sectors.

Gleeson begin 9 warehouse voice WMS rollout

Wellington have successfully completed the first phase of one of Ireland’s biggest warehousing projects of 2011/12. Working in partnership with Heavey RF this was the first installation of a 9 warehouse rollout of real time voice response for Gleeson.

One of the main advantages of voice WMS is that it frees up the hands of the operator, enabling them to work faster and more efficiently leading to increased productivity, reduced errors and less time spent managing returns. One operator even commented that one personal advantage of using voice response technology from the previously used paper based system was that he was now able to wear gloves, particularly important at this time of the year.

The new year will see further installations of the technology into the remaining 8 warehouses.

Other major benefits of the Wellingtons WMS include:

-Eliminating miss-picks

-Avoiding stock outs

-Maximizing warehouse space usage

-Achieving faster load checking and real time inventory control

- Deploying sophisticated inventory control including perpetual inventory

-Ability to rotate stock under 3 different methods; FIFO, best before, user defined

Joining such an established association with a membership of many of the most successful drinks companies in the UK and globally will allow Wellington to gain a vast knowledge of the industry. This will enable us to further tailor and develop our advanced drinks software to meet the most recent needs of the industry. It will also allow Wellington to showcase this drinks software to the specific audience this it is designed for.
