Advances in technology have allowed Wellington to provide a new service that meets the changing requirements of our Credit Union customers. CU Web is developed using a Content Management System (CMS) opening up a whole new level of functionality that makes it easier for you to connect with your members.

Edit From Anywhere

With CU Web, you can edit the site from any computer with an internet connection. This could be a computer in the Credit Union or even one at home! All you have to do is log in to an easy to use and highly intuitive administration area using your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox etc).

Delegate to Staff

With CU Web you can create new administrators and assign them certain privileges in running the site. This means that designated staff members/directors/volunteers can have their own log-in details and can be responsible for adding content to the site. For example:

• Community news regarding local events could be added and updated by a supervisor.
• A loans officer could be in charge of maintaining the Loans section of the site.
• A manager with a good knowledge of the Credit Union’s history could maintain the, “About Us,” section.

You can create as many or as few users as you like, so if you want to be the only person running the site it’s no problem! As the administrator, you also have complete control to change or remove content added by others.

Add New Pages with Ease

In other website management suites, new sub-pages can be created by copying old ones then changing the content. However, the link to the sub-page has to be added to every other page within the site so that the member can access it. If your site had 30 pages, that would mean 30 menus which would need to be updated with the new sub-page.

CU Web makes adding a new page a breeze by minimizing the work involved. By clicking the, “Add New Page,” button in the control panel, a new blank page is created and a link to it is added to the menu automatically. Text and images on the page can easily be added or modified, and you can see the changes happen on the website in real time.

All Text is Editable

In the past, you may have had to request changes to certain parts of your website that you could not access. For example, you would not have been able to change the rate of interest or loan type in the Loan Calculator. In CU Web, all text is editable. And what’s more, it is easy to edit. If you need to change any text on your website you can. All images outside the layout can also be changed.

Search Engine Optimization

With CU Web, ensuring that your website appears in search engines such as Google and Yahoo is now a much easier task. CU Web allows you to, ‘tag,’ news items with searchable keywords. For example, if you write about a local fair that has happened in your common bond, you can tag the article with the name, location and other details of the fair. People searching for information on the event on Google may then come across your site, increasing the possibility of attracting new members to the Credit Union.

Integrate With New Technologies

If you are interested in taking advantage of the marketing possibilities of Twitter, CU Web can be configured to auto-tweet your Twitter account every time new pages or news updates are added to the site. You can also create your own tweets from the CU Web Control Panel without having to log-in to the Twitter website with a separate username and password.

Many people are also now taking advantage of RSS Feeds. This technology allows members to subscribe to your site using a program called an RSS reader. They’ll be updated every time you add news to your site, and therefore don’t have to keep checking back all the time to see if anything has changed.

These services are already changing how people use the internet, and your website can be getting involved at the ground level.
